1. Introduction
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SUNESIS, including the website, surveys, dashboards, reports, National Missions Story content, and related services (together, the “Platform”). SUNESIS is operated by Singapore Centre for Global Missions (“SCGM”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a Christian missionary organisation registered in Singapore.
By accessing or using the Platform, submitting a survey, creating an account, or otherwise interacting with SUNESIS, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. About SUNESIS
SUNESIS is a missions data and research platform that helps churches, workers, and SCGM partners share information, generate insight, and collaborate for God’s mission. Features may include church and worker surveys, Missions Report & Insights (MRI), dashboards, directories, maps, and related research tools. Features may change as the Platform develops.
3. Who may use the Platform
The Platform is intended for:
- churches, pastors, and missions coordinators in Singapore and partner networks;
- mission workers and other individuals invited to complete a survey; and
- authorised SCGM staff, volunteers, and research partners.
If you use the Platform on behalf of a church or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that your organisation agrees to these Terms.
4. Accounts and access
Some parts of the Platform require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify SCGM promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Platform, other users, or the integrity of the data.
5. Surveys and information you submit
You may submit church, worker, location, or other information through surveys and forms. You agree that information you provide is, to the best of your knowledge, true, complete, and not misleading. If you submit information about other people (for example, workers or church contacts), you confirm that you are authorised to do so and, where required, that you have obtained their consent.
Aggregated or anonymised findings from survey responses may be used for research, reporting, and ministry planning. Personal identifiers will not be published without permission, except where required by law.
6. Data, reports, and insight
Missions Report & Insights (MRI), dashboards, scores, comparisons, and partner suggestions are provided for informational and ministry-planning purposes. They are not professional, legal, financial, or pastoral advice, and they may be based on incomplete or self-reported data. You remain responsible for how your church or organisation uses any insight generated by the Platform.
Churches and submitting organisations retain their rights in the underlying information they provide. By using the Platform, you grant SCGM a non-exclusive licence to host, process, analyse, and display that information in order to operate SUNESIS, produce reports, and carry out SCGM’s research and missions purposes, in accordance with these Terms and our privacy practices.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Platform for any unlawful, harmful, or misleading purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data, or systems;
- interfere with or disrupt the Platform, including by introducing malware;
- scrape, copy, or reuse Platform content except as permitted by these Terms;
- misrepresent your identity, church affiliation, or authority; or
- use another person’s personal data without a lawful basis or required consent.
8. Intellectual property
SUNESIS, the SUNESIS wordmark, the Platform design, software, and SCGM content (including National Missions Story materials, unless otherwise credited) are owned by SCGM or its licensors. You may use the Platform for its intended ministry purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform except with our prior written permission or as allowed by law.
9. Privacy and personal data
SCGM handles personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and SCGM’s Personal Data Protection Policy. That policy explains how personal data is collected, used, disclosed, retained, and how you may request access, correction, or withdrawal of consent.
Survey forms may include additional notices specific to that collection. Where those notices apply, they should be read together with the SCGM policy. For data protection requests, you may also contact info@scgm.org.sg.
10. Third-party services
The Platform may use hosting, authentication, analytics, or other service providers to operate securely. Those providers process data only as needed to deliver the service. Links to third-party websites (including SCGM’s public website) are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not control.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep SUNESIS available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, pause, or discontinue features as the Platform develops. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, SCGM disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that reports or comparisons are complete, current, or suitable for any particular decision.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCGM, its officers, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or ministry opportunity arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed SGD 100, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SCGM and its officers, employees, and associates against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or personal data you submit without authority or required consent.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Platform. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform.
